New database: Mergent Fixed Income Securities Database (FISD)

We have some great news for our Finance faculty and students (and anyone else interested in Finance): David Lam Library has purchased 1 year of access to Mergent Fixed Income Securities Database (FISD). FISD will be available from January 5, 2018 to January, 2019, via the WRDS platform.

Mergent FISD is a comprehensive database of publicly offered U.S. bonds. FISD contains issue details on over 140,000 corporate, corporate MTN (medium term note), supranational, U.S. Agency, and U.S. Treasury debt securities and includes more than 550 data items. FISD provides details on debt issues and the issuers, as well as transactions by insurance companies. It is used to research market trends, deal structures, issuer capital structures and other areas of fixed income debt research.

An information page for Mergent FISD is now available at:

Users will need to have an active WRDS account in order to get access to this resource.  For information about how to activate your WRDS account, please e-mail Kimberly.fama@ubc.ca with your UBC e-mail address.

Happy searching and Happy New Year!
