Indigenous History Month

June commemorates Indigenous History Month in Canada. The month encourages people to learn about, appreciate and acknowledge the rich history, heritage, resilience, contributions and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples across the country.

Join us for UBC Events on campus honoring Indigenous History Month:
June 4, 2022 | 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. – Tla Yahda – Making It Right: Repatriation Ethics, A Haida View  (MOA)
June 8, 2022 and weekly throughout the summer – Decolonization tour highlighting site-specific artworks by Indigenous artists
June 17 – August 14, 2022 – The Belkin exhibition: Start Somewhere Else: Works from the Collections centers around Krista Belle Stewart’s video installation Seraphine
June 21, 2022 – Outdoor Screen: Stories from Musqueam (Belkin’s Outdoor Screen)
June 23, 2022 I 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m – Ceremonial fire at xwc̓ ic̓ əsəm Garden, UBC Farm (BIPOC/Indigenous students, faculty, staff and community members at UBC Farm)
